In order to support this Earth's magnetic theory, a major magnetic condition must be explained. This is why the Earth's magnetic poles reversed. Given this theory, as long as the electric field is continual in one direction, the magnetic poles would not reverse. If the magnetic poles reversed and the theory were correct then the electric field would need to reverse and so would the direction of orbit and spin. A condition of this nature would be very visible in the Earth's crust and this does not seem to be the case. The second problem would be the Earth would slow down in both spin and velocity, crashing into the Sun. So what caused the pole reversal or drastic relocations and still kept the electric field, orbit, and spin the same?
On simple answer, a meteorite. A big hit on the Earth's crust. This is more than theory. It is mathematically sound. In hit like the one which created the Vredefort ring, an estimated 1.5 million megaton event could rotate the crust of the Earth from north to south if its impact angle were at only 10 degrees toward a pole. There is much evidence of more than one of these astroblems on the face of the planet some larger and smaller ones too. The difference between astroblems and meteorite craters is the grandness of the scale. The whole African continent may have been created by a meteorite hit.
Looking at a National Geographical's, World Ocean Floors, Pacific Ocean supplement of June 1992, page 70A, Vol.181, No. 6. shows the difference between a small crater and an astroblem. The Arizona crater isn't visible but the Canadian Shield mountain range is clearly circling the Hudson Bay which takes up one third of the North American continent. The energy needed to move such a large area as the Hudson Bay hit is many orders of magnitude greater than the energy of the Arizona hit. The diameter of the Hudson Bay crater hit is some 2000 miles. The Arizona hole is only about a mile across. Millions upon millions of megaton bombs would be required to affect the Earth like 2000 mile radius hit. Another large impact looks as though it may have created the Gulf of Mexico. If ten percent of the energy were imparted in a perpendicular vector to the crust's surface spin, the Earth would spin north-south faster than east-west. At any rate, it would be foolish to believe the Earth's spin, magnetic field, environment and weather wouldn't be seriously affected.
The reason it is sound to say that a meteorite could alter the Earth's surface is because the Earth's surface has very little mass compared to the total Earth's mass. The crust is very thin and is not connected to the Earth's mantle. The crust can slip very easily over the mantle because the mantle is almost fluid. The biggest lock to the Earth's crust is the bulge. However, it really wouldn't require a lot of energy to alter the crust as compared to altering the Earth's trajectory, and total volume spin because the crust is thin and cracked already, thus allowing it to roll over the bulge. This is what tectonic theory is based on.
Very little energy would be required to fracture the crust in order to allow north to south spin because it is mostly cracked now. The Earth's crust would easily crack up to accommodate the pressure gradients like an earthen pot. Sub fracturing of cyclic nature would most likely appear too. Personally, I believe this is what cause the Mendocino, Murry, Molokai, Clarion, Clipperton, Galapagos, and Marquesas fracture zones. These zones, the fracture seems to have snapped with intense vibration.
It would be logical to expect that lateral forces on the fractures would depend on the location of the cracks with respect to the Earth's spin. It would also follow that there would be some forces on the fractures applied by the mantle. If the bulge was still under pressure, it would force the equatorial plates to widen and expand outward. The plates at the other end would lap one another or be forced side ways due to the same outward expansion in order to relieve pressure. The plates would slide differently than they did before the hit too. If the occurrence occurred many times, there would be many cracks formed. This seems to be the case. Some people at NASA like the idea.
In an awesome north to south hit, the Earth's crust would simply slip north to south or south to north depending upon viewpoint and continue to co-rotate until the main force of the rotating inner structure reestablished a constant surface rotation velocity. The poles could be anywhere but hysteresis would tend to align north to south.
What would be the effect of such a hit to humanity? To say death and destruction would be an understatement. Given the 27 mile variance in the diameter of the Earth between the bulge and poles, what was miles above water could be easily miles under water. What was once a desert could be a frozen wasteland. This type of event would make a nuclear winter look like a spring shower. Humanity as we know it, would be wiped off the face of the planet like so many ants in a good dousing of Black Flag.
Little would be left standing. An all out nuclear war would leave more humanity around the planet than a north to south spin event. Tide changes of thousands of feet wouldn't be unusual. The acceleration would exceed 100 on the Richter scale. An earthquake of magnitude 10 R a few feet off the plate grind is nothing compared the type of event which could snap continental tectonic plates like twigs. The snap energy of a fracture between the continental plates would chuck the tallest high-rise building off it's foundation as so much dust flung off a cracking stick.
At the very least, for humanity, it's around and around we go, where we land no body knows. Where ever the survivors are, I'll guarantee the weather is going to be different than just before the hit. I'll guarantee the human infra-structure will fail. Luck would have a lot to do with survival. Sharks, sea-urchins, and roaches seem to have survived many of the every twenty-two million year extermination periods. Many genus of dinosaurs, however, didn't fair so well. Humanity hardly has had experience surviving an extermination period. A north to south spin event would definitely cause an extermination period.
For any humanity to survive, the lucky survivors will have to be at the right place at the right time. The right place is where impact acceleration vectors are minimal at the time of impact. As a rough guess, out of the five plus billion people on Earth today, if a astroblem size hit occurred now, it would cut the human population down to a few hundred or wipe it out totally.
It would not take a massive hit to alter the Earth's crust either. The Arizona impact probably altered the curst's position relative to spin a few miles. Altering the Earth's crust a couple hundred miles would raise and lower water levels drastically. The Earth's surface volume of land to water is 13 to one. Small changes in the Earth's surface would drastically affect the water levels almost everywhere. Also, the magnetic poles would be at a different location too. The bulge variance is large compared to the depth of the oceans and height of land. Motion forcing polar spin a small distance off center will result in large water level changes.
Do we have evidence of this? You bet! About 65 million years ago there was a major pole relocation along with evidence of massive meteorite dust settling over most the surface of the Earth and the total annihilation of most living things at that time. Other evidence suggests massive water level changes as coral outcroppings located at very discrete depths separated by hundreds of feet of sand. Coral is very slow to grow and it must be close to the surface. When coral is located hundreds of feet below the surface, obviously, something happened to raise the water in the area. There is more than enough evidence of such an occurrence of fast total destruction. This theory predicts another pole reversal also.
There is all sorts of evidence of high energy impacts; Ries Kessel, Wabar, Carswell Lake, Keely Lake, Deep Bay, Westhawk Lake, Lac Couture, Nastapoka Arc (Hudson Bay), Clearwater Lake, Menihek Lake, Ungava Bay, Sault-Aux-Cochons, Brent, Franktown, Lake Michika-mau, Manicouagan Lake, St. Lawrence Arc, Mt. Canina Crater, Holleford, Boxhole, Dalgaranga, Henbury, Serpent Mound, and Wolf Creek are naming only a few smaller hits. Like auto wrecks and plane crashes, the Earth as we know it can be in an accident with astronomical mass, which will wipe out the surface in the blink of an eye.
One only has to look at the surface of the moon where water and wind erosion haven't destroyed the craters to see what the Earth looks like minus the affects of time and erosion. Although a minor event, a meteorite hit some one's car in the Los Angeles area not too long ago. The Jack Rabbit population in Arizona, dead center in the Barringer Crater, at the time of the hit got a surprise. This type of event happens constantly to Earth. Any event sufficient to put a hole in the Earth's surface the size it takes a Boeing 747 an hour to fly across is very likely to alter the Earth's surface position relative to prior hit trajectory.
Constant timely Earth's pole reversals can be explained easily with continuous pole movement and this theory. Should the Earth's physical surface move relative to spin quickly , then it would seem like pole relocation to historians and paleomagnetologists. In theory, the magnetic pole didn't relocate, the Earth's surface relocated.
The Earth's magnetic field is an astronomical event. All the planets and the Sun have magnetic properties. Materials on Earth have magnetic properties. It would follow that an astronomical size object of these Earthly materials would have an astronomical effect and be astronomically affected by an astronomical motional electromagnetic flux. The effect would be common among astronomical bodies.
A second explanation of pole positional change is that the poles position changes all the time naturally. We can measure the pole position change on a daily basis. Inch by inch, foot by foot, over year by year by a million years, the pole position could easily be different if the Earth every so slightly changes axis position. The affect of pole positional change would accrue by natural tectonic action too. As large deposits of iron, within continents, are moved, the force dynamics on the crust changes because of the relative position of continental bodies containing these deposits. Changing the force dynamics would alter the spin axis over astronomical time.
On the more positive from the old bones and mass extermination side, are mass creations. From the all at once, life started in the oceans, to the all at once, humans seemed to walk the land, support massive Earth surface changes. General creation of species has occurred many times which, taken in the scheme of things, all happened at once. Many macro organism existed millions, to about a billion years ago, which show dramatic changes in short periods of time. Many biologist feel this was caused by changes in physical locations which is supported by changes in magnetic polar location. Drastically change the environment, and a snail is going to change it's appearance.
Think about it!
A meteorite brings life to Earth. Meteorites bring change to life. And, long about a hundred thousand years ago, there was a hairy ape walking around and another hairless ape crawled around in the ground. Both apes came from the same species branch but went different ways for protection. Then came a big one, and conditions went bad. The underground ape is better insulated and survives, the other doesn't. Ten thousand years, or so, things change and the cave man migrates. Sun burn and skin cancer are good examples of present day man's early conditions. In a hundred thousand years, how much have we changed? The only difference between our ancestors and now is we build our caves.
The Dynamo Theory Revived.
The theory that the Sun is expelling an electromagnetic wave which is powering the Earth is a form of the Dynamo Theory. However, it is not exactly a Dynamo because the process is not reversable. But, no matter, it is close to a Dynamo.
The old Dynamo Theory and the new Dynamo Theory differ by one fundamental condition. The condition is the source of energy for the Earth's magnetic field. In the old Dynamo Theory, the Earth's magnetic field was generated within the Earth and is said to be perpetual. To believe in a perpetual motion system is foolish. The scientific community has established perpetual motion doesn't work. Not even superconductors last for ever. This theory presented now, states that the Earth's magnetic field is an astronomical reaction by material to a moving electromagnetic wave. Fundamentally, this theory is the same as the old theory properly applied to electro-tonic action, only there is a logical energy source.
Just because the U.S.A. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Research, Office of Fusion Energy, a division of Applied Plasma Physics in the Experimental Plasma Research Branch doesn't know what a H-H reaction expanding electromagnetic wave is doesn't make the theory unsound. For twelve years the Republican party has had control of the Department of Energy. The Republican party is run by idealists and fundamental Christians, I know because I'm a Republican. Its hard for many Republicans to believe that the Earth isn't the center of the universe. If it were not for the Pope's recent declaration that the Earth really circular, does go around the Sun, and the Sun is within a galaxy, the Republican's would still believe the Earth is the center of the universe. The solar system has a highly complex electromagnetic structure which requires energy from some source. The electro-tonic energy is radiated by the Sun's H-H reaction whether the Department of Energy knows or not. On the other hand, the Democrats have "no comment."
