Ferry Building Clock Tower
Looking down Market Street at the famous Clock Tower at the end of San Francisco. The sight you see, except for the side building style is over a hundred years old. Pictures of this street in 1989, more or less and relatively speaking, looked the same as it does today. Several restaurants have hand drawn painting of this street in the early 1980s. There are all sorts of black and white photos of this street prior to the earthquake of 1906. This is one of the oldest photographed streets in America.
San Francisco Hyatt Regency
After landing Saturday at a San Francisco airport, or by train, or however you get to San Francisco and staying Saturday night in a hotel with a big swimming pool near the airport so I can test your swimming abilities, you will be moved to the down town Hyatt Hotel for Sunday and Monday nights. This is not an inexpensive hotel. The San Francisco Hyatt has access to the entire Bay Area. BART, MUNI, and the famous Cable Cars are all within easy walk. The restaurant at the top of the building is only one of the fine restaurants within Hyatt. Surrounding the San Francisco Hyatt Hotel are many other fine restaurants and shops. The San Francisco Hyatt Hotel is right down town San Francisco.
Inside The San Francisco Hyatt Hotel
Monday morning will be check in time at the San Francisco Hyatt. After checking in freshening up, and a light lunch you will go to the San Francisco Academy of Science. After the tour of the San Francisco Aquarium, you will be brought back to the San Francisco Hyatt. Sunday night you will have open to enjoy the night life in San Francisco. Besides being right down town, the San Francisco Hyatt is in a structural complex with five interlocking buildings. Any type of restaurant you want is somewhere around the hotel. Looking Across The Bay
The view from the rotating restaurant in the Hyatt is something else. This is a great way to see the city of San Francisco. Just sit down, have dinner and see all 360 degrees of the city. The view seen here is of the Ferry building looking across the bay to Treasure Island near sun down. Sun down up here can be quite spectacular. The price of food and service at this restaurant is very reasonable. For the price of a couple drinks, you can sit up at the restaurant and watch the city go round several times.
The Rock
Alcatraz San Francisco
This being a dive trip, Monday morning will open up with a boat trip. After breakfast we'll be taking one of San Francisco's many cruse liners to The Rock. Alcatraz is an X-Fort and one of Americas most famous X-federal prisons. Alcatraz is a park now. Being located in the center of San Francisco's bay, the boat trip to Alcatraz and walking around on the island with its isolation in the middle of a water mass sets mood of the day. After leaving Alcatraz and taking the boat trip back to San Francisco, and a short transfer to another boat, lunch is served on the bay. You will travel out under the Golden Gate Bridge while having lunch on the boat. As lunch ends, you will then tour the famous Pier 39 and Water World.
