Safe!You Joke?
This is a party which only few get invited.
NOW, it's the millennium party + 1.
Here are some FAQ's:
Q1. Please send brochures.
A1. Don't have any.
Q2. Can You have the telephone numbers of the hotels and
attractions?
A2. Yes, call yellow pages get a book.
Q3. How much does it cost?
A3. About $9,950 a person. And, it isn't much cheaper for kids.
Q4. Is a California Tour License involved?
A4. Yes. Just don't know what one it is at the moment.
Q5. Will You be accepted if you are certified?
A5. Yes. Diving is dangerous, the public accommodations are not as dangerous, the cities aren't safe either, and lawyers make sharks look down right friendly; that's the way it is. So as far as I'm concerned, NASDS, SSI, PADI, RC and all the rest as good as they get. I don't sell any goods. I don't sell my time. I don't sell my service. I don't profit so I just don't take on responsibility.
Q6. Do people get hurt on these vacations?
A6. Yes.
Q7. Do You have to pay cash up front?
A7. Yes.
Q8. If my plane crashes or I get stuck home sick, do I still have
to pay?
A8. Yes. All the money is spent. These hotels over book. This
is not an organized profit making tour. This is a party. If a
hotel over books after taking the cash they'll be discussing the
problem with my attorney John Christopher Burr.
Q9. Have there been relatives whom thought it was unfair to keep
the cash even if the party goer died before the vacation?
A9. Yes. It's not my problem they died. I don't want the
problem either. None of the hotels are going to give the money
back. Once the spot is filled, it's filled.
Q10. If the plane is late, can I start the vacation in the middle
so long as I understand it ends when it ends?
A10. Yes. Just bring money for an extended taxi ride. And, no, it isn't my responsibility your plane is late.
Q11. Are children welcome?
A11. Yes, if you take responsibility for them.
A12. Can my kids get hurt?
A12. Yes. You can too!
Q13. Is there a possibility I could get robbed on this vacation?
A13. Yes. Travel light.
Q14. Do things change without notice?
A14. Yes. Happens a lot.
Q15. How long have these parties been going on?
A15. This dive master was a certified SCUBA instructor in Santa Clara, was first certified in 1969, has been operational for 32 years. Cross certified among others, NASDS, sold out to SSI. San Francisco, The Bay Area, Monterey, and Santa Cruz California is home base. Just don't need a store and am not going to take on fiduciary duty. You want a certified operation active SCUBA instructor to go along with you, have yours go along. I don't care. I will not hold it against him or her for what ever agency they are certified with.
Q16. Have people bought the farm on excursions like these?
A16. Yes. Dive Master does not take responsibility for any one.
Dive Master doesn't take Master Card, Visa, American Express,
Checks, or cash either. The show moves on regardless of accidents
which have occurred. Too bad about the loss, but in this party,
luck has a lot to do with it. If safety is foremost in your mind, stay home. Sitting on the beach thinking, wow, am I glad I didn't feed that shark my leg, am I lucky, well, that's partly what is paid for. This isn't a misery loving company crowd. People with a strange outlook on life go on this party.
Q17. It was my kid who fell off the boat, got whacked by the
prop, and is in the hospital barely clinging to life. The whole
family is at the hospital. Do I still have to pay?
A17. Yes. It's cold, it's heartless, it's business, be sure you
carry good health insurance.
Q18. Why the hell does it cost so much. It was cheaper last year! ($2500)
A18. Two years ago I wasn't taken to task in Federal Court either.
It's not that I don't care about some of the things which happen, it's life is hard. I'm not going to take on the self inflicted righteous misery loves company guilt complex because you, a loved one, or both got hurt. San Francisco California United States of America is a ligatious society. For them's who don't understand that word: Law is latin for boundaries. Ligature is to bind. In the USofA it's the blame game. Because I'm the guy who says lets party and organizes the blow out, yee whom get hurts or said relatives want to make a buck off me. I don't accept that. After a few rounds, one begins to look at this as; "Swine kid fell of the boat and tried to wrecked my party!" Sue them, their parents, and airline who brought them to town.
SCUBA Diving in the Pacific Ocean is not safe. Boats are not safe. Wild ride theme parks are not all that safe. Walking around ignorantly in any big city is not safe. Divers are a crazy lot. Divers tend to party hearty. Safety is not what this party is about. Stupidity, it isn't either. The facts are, foolish things have been done on this trip. I'm not a regulator and will not regulate nor will I take responsibility for foolish things having been done. This is about survival. In this party, you either take 100% responsibility for your self and family, or you don't go with me. This isn't a lawless party either. In fact, there are all sorts of laws which prevail. Water slides, roller coasters, arcades, lions, tigers, seals, boats, busses, oceans and big cities all have risk of injury and or death associated with them. I know this, you should too. After one of these events, I always feel lucky like I lived past another one.
